# Altimate vs Meter

The clearest difference is rating: Altimate at 5.0 against Meter's 4.4. Meter's advantage is in-app purchases (none vs 1) and ads (none vs shown). On price, ratings volume, device support and iOS requirement there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Altimate sells 1 one-off in-app purchase. Meter asks for nothing beyond the download.

Altimate holds the better App Store score, 5.0 against 4.4. Both are backed by a comparable volume of ratings — 3 and 7 respectively. Written reviews complicate that: 67% of Altimate's written reviews are positive against 100% of Meter's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

Altimate ships an update fortnightly, Meter every 3 days. The most recent releases landed on November 2, 2026 and October 30, 2026 respectively.
