# Onkyo Controller vs Brennan

The clearest difference is rating: Brennan at 2.9 against Onkyo Controller's 2.2. Brennan also leads on update cadence (fortnightly vs every 2 months) and iOS requirement (12.0 vs 15.0). Onkyo Controller's advantage is ratings volume (620 vs 25) and review sentiment (26% vs 17%). On price, ads, in-app purchases and monetization model there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Neither carries in-app purchases, so what you see is what you pay.

Brennan holds the better App Store score, 2.9 against 2.2. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Onkyo Controller has 620 ratings behind it against 25, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 26% of Onkyo Controller's written reviews are positive against 17% of Brennan's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

Onkyo Controller ships an update every 2 months, Brennan fortnightly. The most recent releases landed on October 14, 2026 and October 15, 2026 respectively.
