# Color Notepad vs StackLock

The clearest difference is update cadence: StackLock at every 2 days against Color Notepad's every 5 months. Color Notepad's advantage is ratings volume (603 vs 74). On price, rating, ads and in-app purchases there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Color Notepad sells 1 one-off in-app purchase and StackLock sells 1 in-app purchase, starting at $14.99 per month. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

On the App Store both sit at effectively the same score — 4.5 for Color Notepad against 4.5 for StackLock. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Color Notepad has 603 ratings behind it against 74, so its average is the more settled of the two.

Color Notepad ships an update every 5 months, StackLock every 2 days. The most recent releases landed on October 20, 2026 and October 15, 2026 respectively.
