# VPN vs 魔戒VPN

The clearest difference is rating: VPN at 4.8 against 魔戒VPN's 3.6. VPN also leads on review sentiment (91% vs 58%) and ratings volume (18K vs 14). 魔戒VPN's advantage is ads (none vs shown). On price, update cadence, in-app purchases and monetization model there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. VPN sells 2 in-app purchases, starting at $9.99 per month and 魔戒VPN sells 4 one-off in-app purchases. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

VPN holds the better App Store score, 4.8 against 3.6. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: VPN has 18K ratings behind it against 14, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews point the same way: 91% of VPN's written reviews are positive against 58% of 魔戒VPN's.

VPN ships an update fortnightly, 魔戒VPN every 4 weeks. The most recent releases landed on November 7, 2026 and November 5, 2026 respectively.
