# FaceGuard vs ToneNest

The clearest difference is update cadence: ToneNest at every 2 days against FaceGuard's every 6 months. FaceGuard's advantage is iOS requirement (15.0 vs 17.0). On price, ads, in-app purchases and monetization model there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. FaceGuard sells 8 in-app purchases, starting at $2.99 per year and ToneNest sells 1 one-off in-app purchase. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

FaceGuard ships an update every 6 months, ToneNest every 2 days. The most recent releases landed on October 24, 2026 and October 13, 2026 respectively.
