# Chef vs Harvey's

The clearest difference is rating: Harvey's at 4.7 against Chef's 4.3. Harvey's also leads on ratings volume (458 vs 3). Chef's advantage is review sentiment (41% vs 21%) and iOS requirement (11.0 vs 16). On price, update cadence, ads and in-app purchases there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Neither carries in-app purchases, so what you see is what you pay.

Harvey's holds the better App Store score, 4.7 against 4.3. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Harvey's has 458 ratings behind it against 3, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 41% of Chef's written reviews are positive against 21% of Harvey's's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

Both ship on a similar rhythm, roughly every 2 months. Both last shipped on November 2, 2026.
