# Chef vs Osmows

The clearest difference is rating: Osmows at 4.7 against Chef's 4.3. Osmows also leads on ratings volume (118 vs 3) and update cadence (fortnightly vs every 2 months). Chef's advantage is review sentiment (41% vs 32%) and device support (3 vs 1). On price, ads, in-app purchases and monetization model there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Neither carries in-app purchases, so what you see is what you pay.

Osmows holds the better App Store score, 4.7 against 4.3. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Osmows has 118 ratings behind it against 3, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 41% of Chef's written reviews are positive against 32% of Osmows's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

Chef ships an update every 2 months, Osmows fortnightly. The most recent releases landed on October 24, 2026 and October 25, 2026 respectively.
