# Del Taco vs Cake Lab

The clearest difference is monetization model: Cake Lab at free against Del Taco's free with in-app purchases. Cake Lab also leads on rating (5.0 vs 4.7) and update cadence (every 11 days vs every 5 weeks). Del Taco's advantage is ratings volume (43K vs 1) and chart position (#157 vs unranked). On price, ads, in-app purchases and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Neither carries in-app purchases, so what you see is what you pay.

Cake Lab holds the better App Store score, 5.0 against 4.7. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Del Taco has 43K ratings behind it against 1, so its average is the more settled of the two.

Del Taco ships an update every 5 weeks, Cake Lab every 11 days. The most recent releases landed on October 17, 2026 and September 29, 2026 respectively.
