# SatCatcher vs Staslink

The clearest difference is in-app purchases: SatCatcher at none against Staslink's 8. SatCatcher also leads on iOS requirement (13.0 vs 15.6). Staslink's advantage is ratings volume (20K vs 80) and update cadence (every 2 months vs every 9 months). On price, rating, review sentiment and ads there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Staslink sells 8 in-app purchases, starting at $2.99 per 7 days. SatCatcher asks for nothing beyond the download.

On the App Store both sit at effectively the same score — 4.3 for SatCatcher against 4.4 for Staslink. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Staslink has 20K ratings behind it against 80, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews are what separate them: 53% of SatCatcher's written reviews are positive against 57% of Staslink's.

SatCatcher ships an update every 9 months, Staslink every 2 months. The most recent releases landed on November 2, 2026 and November 7, 2026 respectively.
