# Rehearsal® Pro vs coldRead

The clearest difference is price: coldRead at Free against Rehearsal® Pro's $19.99. coldRead also leads on rating (4.4 vs 3.6) and update cadence (every 9 days vs every 2 months). Rehearsal® Pro's advantage is in-app purchases (none vs 4). On review sentiment, ads, device support and iOS requirement there is nothing between them.

coldRead is free to download; Rehearsal® Pro costs $19.99 up front. coldRead sells 4 in-app purchases, starting at $10.99 per month. Rehearsal® Pro asks for nothing beyond the download.

coldRead holds the better App Store score, 4.4 against 3.6. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: coldRead has 4K ratings behind it against 66, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 48% of Rehearsal® Pro's written reviews are positive against 41% of coldRead's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

Rehearsal® Pro ships an update every 2 months, coldRead every 9 days. Both last shipped on October 29, 2026.
