# XicoyBT vs MDA5

The clearest difference is update cadence: MDA5 at every 4 months against XicoyBT's every 23 months. MDA5 also leads on iOS requirement (12.0 vs 17.0). On price, ads, in-app purchases and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Neither carries in-app purchases, so what you see is what you pay.

XicoyBT ships an update every 23 months, MDA5 every 4 months. Both last shipped on October 26, 2026.
