# SnipBack vs Video Pre

The clearest difference is rating: Video Pre at 5.0 against SnipBack's 4.0. SnipBack's advantage is update cadence (every 3 days vs every 5 months) and monetization model (free vs free with in-app purchases). On price, review sentiment, ads and in-app purchases there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. SnipBack sells 12 one-off in-app purchases and Video Pre sells 1 one-off in-app purchase. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

Video Pre holds the better App Store score, 5.0 against 4.0. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: SnipBack has 26 ratings behind it against 3, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews point the same way: 67% of SnipBack's written reviews are positive against 73% of Video Pre's.

SnipBack ships an update every 3 days, Video Pre every 5 months. The most recent releases landed on October 29, 2026 and October 27, 2026 respectively.
