# GPS vs Rail Tasker

The clearest difference is rating: Rail Tasker at 4.1 against GPS's 3.5. Rail Tasker also leads on update cadence (fortnightly vs every 2 months). GPS's advantage is review sentiment (67% vs 50%) and iOS requirement (13.0 vs 15.0). On price, ratings volume, ads and in-app purchases there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Neither carries in-app purchases, so what you see is what you pay.

Rail Tasker holds the better App Store score, 4.1 against 3.5. Both are backed by a comparable volume of ratings — 13 and 7 respectively. Written reviews complicate that: 67% of GPS's written reviews are positive against 50% of Rail Tasker's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

GPS ships an update every 2 months, Rail Tasker fortnightly. The most recent releases landed on June 1, 2026 and September 24, 2026 respectively.
