# ConnectToTV vs View Player

The clearest difference is update cadence: View Player at every 2 months against ConnectToTV's every 12 months. ConnectToTV's advantage is iOS requirement (11.0 vs 16.6). On price, ads, in-app purchases and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Neither carries in-app purchases, so what you see is what you pay.

ConnectToTV ships an update every 12 months, View Player every 2 months. The most recent releases landed on October 9, 2026 and October 2, 2026 respectively.
