# Countdown Timer vs Important Dates

The clearest difference is in-app purchases: Countdown Timer at none against Important Dates's 3. Countdown Timer also leads on ratings volume (1.2K vs 39) and iOS requirement (11.0 vs 14.0). Important Dates's advantage is update cadence (every 2 weeks vs every 7 months) and review sentiment (100% vs 85%). On price, rating, ads and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Important Dates sells 3 one-off in-app purchases. Countdown Timer asks for nothing beyond the download.

On the App Store both sit at effectively the same score — 4.8 for Countdown Timer against 4.9 for Important Dates. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Countdown Timer has 1.2K ratings behind it against 39, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews are what separate them: 85% of Countdown Timer's written reviews are positive against 100% of Important Dates's.
