# Lockly Vault vs Locky

The clearest difference is review sentiment: Lockly Vault at 46% against Locky's 0%. Lockly Vault also leads on ads (none vs shown) and update cadence (monthly vs every 4 months). Locky's advantage is rating (4.5 vs 3.1) and monetization model (free with in-app purchases vs subscription). On price and in-app purchases there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Lockly Vault sells 2 in-app purchases, starting at $9.99 per year and Locky sells 4 in-app purchases, starting at $7.99 per 7 days. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

Locky holds the better App Store score, 4.5 against 3.1. Both are backed by a comparable volume of ratings — 29 and 104 respectively. Written reviews complicate that: 46% of Lockly Vault's written reviews are positive against 0% of Locky's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

Lockly Vault ships an update monthly, Locky every 4 months. Both last shipped on October 30, 2026.
