# U vs Y

The clearest difference is ratings volume: Y at 1.7K against U's 17. Y also leads on update cadence (every 3 weeks vs every 3 months) and iOS requirement (8.0 vs 12.1). U's advantage is rating (2.3 vs 2.0) and review sentiment (29% vs 9%). On price, ads, in-app purchases and monetization model there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Neither carries in-app purchases, so what you see is what you pay.

U holds the better App Store score, 2.3 against 2.0. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Y has 1.7K ratings behind it against 17, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews point the same way: 29% of U's written reviews are positive against 9% of Y's.

U ships an update every 3 months, Y every 3 weeks. The most recent releases landed on October 8, 2026 and October 15, 2026 respectively.
