# RoadCam vs SmartThermal

The clearest difference is rating: SmartThermal at 5.0 against RoadCam's 1.7. RoadCam's advantage is ratings volume (136 vs 1). On price, review sentiment, update cadence and ads there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Neither carries in-app purchases, so what you see is what you pay.

SmartThermal holds the better App Store score, 5.0 against 1.7. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: RoadCam has 136 ratings behind it against 1, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 10% of RoadCam's written reviews are positive against 8% of SmartThermal's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

RoadCam ships an update every 3 weeks, SmartThermal every 6 weeks. The most recent releases landed on October 22, 2026 and October 10, 2026 respectively.
