# MyScript Notes vs ThunderNotes

The clearest difference is rating: MyScript Notes at 4.7 against ThunderNotes's 2.3. MyScript Notes also leads on ratings volume (39K vs 3). ThunderNotes's advantage is update cadence (every 5 days vs every 10 days) and iOS requirement (15.1 vs 17.0). On price, review sentiment, ads and in-app purchases there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. MyScript Notes sells 9 in-app purchases, starting at $1.99 per month and ThunderNotes sells 5 in-app purchases, starting at $2.99 per 7 days. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

MyScript Notes holds the better App Store score, 4.7 against 2.3. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: MyScript Notes has 39K ratings behind it against 3, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews split almost evenly too, at 66% and 67% positive.

MyScript Notes ships an update every 10 days, ThunderNotes every 5 days. The most recent releases landed on November 7, 2026 and October 30, 2026 respectively.
