# VPN Pro vs PrivateVPN

The clearest difference is rating: PrivateVPN at 4.6 against VPN Pro's 4.2. VPN Pro's advantage is device support (4 vs 2) and iOS requirement (13 vs 18.0). On price, review sentiment, ratings volume and update cadence there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. VPN Pro sells 11 in-app purchases, starting at $2.99 per month and PrivateVPN sells 3 in-app purchases, starting at $9.99 per month. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

PrivateVPN holds the better App Store score, 4.6 against 4.2. Both are backed by a comparable volume of ratings — 2.8K and 5K respectively. Written reviews complicate that: 33% of VPN Pro's written reviews are positive against 28% of PrivateVPN's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

Both ship on a similar rhythm, roughly every 2 months. The most recent releases landed on October 15, 2026 and October 18, 2026 respectively.
