# BusExpress vs Rail Ninja

The clearest difference is rating: Rail Ninja at 4.8 against BusExpress's 1.0. Rail Ninja also leads on update cadence (every 3 weeks vs every 7 months) and ratings volume (6.2K vs 1). BusExpress's advantage is review sentiment (67% vs 32%) and monetization model (free vs free with in-app purchases). On price, ads, in-app purchases and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Neither carries in-app purchases, so what you see is what you pay.

Rail Ninja holds the better App Store score, 4.8 against 1.0. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Rail Ninja has 6.2K ratings behind it against 1, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 67% of BusExpress's written reviews are positive against 32% of Rail Ninja's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

BusExpress ships an update every 7 months, Rail Ninja every 3 weeks. The most recent releases landed on October 16, 2026 and October 26, 2026 respectively.
