# DayCount vs Color widgets

The clearest difference is monetization model: Color widgets at free with in-app purchases against DayCount's subscription. Color widgets also leads on review sentiment (71% vs 47%). DayCount's advantage is ads (none vs shown) and ratings volume (26K vs 148). On price, rating, update cadence and in-app purchases there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. DayCount sells 4 in-app purchases, starting at $9.99 per year and Color widgets sells 3 in-app purchases, starting at $0.99 per month. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

DayCount holds the better App Store score, 4.7 against 4.5. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: DayCount has 26K ratings behind it against 148, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 47% of DayCount's written reviews are positive against 71% of Color widgets's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

DayCount ships an update every 5 weeks, Color widgets monthly. The most recent releases landed on October 18, 2026 and October 5, 2026 respectively.
