# DayCount vs Countdown Widget

The clearest difference is monetization model: Countdown Widget at free with in-app purchases against DayCount's subscription. Countdown Widget also leads on update cadence (weekly vs every 5 weeks). DayCount's advantage is ratings volume (26K vs 419) and review sentiment (47% vs 30%). On price, rating, ads and in-app purchases there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. DayCount sells 4 in-app purchases, starting at $9.99 per year and Countdown Widget sells 10 in-app purchases, starting at $5.99 per 7 days. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

On the App Store both sit at effectively the same score — 4.7 for DayCount against 4.8 for Countdown Widget. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: DayCount has 26K ratings behind it against 419, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews are what separate them: 47% of DayCount's written reviews are positive against 30% of Countdown Widget's.

DayCount ships an update every 5 weeks, Countdown Widget weekly. The most recent releases landed on October 14, 2026 and October 12, 2026 respectively.
