# DayCount vs Countdown Widget

The clearest difference is rating: DayCount at 4.7 against Countdown Widget's 2.0. DayCount also leads on ratings volume (26K vs 1). Countdown Widget's advantage is monetization model (free with in-app purchases vs subscription) and update cadence (daily vs every 5 weeks). On price, ads, in-app purchases and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. DayCount sells 4 in-app purchases, starting at $9.99 per year and Countdown Widget sells 3 in-app purchases, starting at $0.99 per month. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

DayCount holds the better App Store score, 4.7 against 2.0. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: DayCount has 26K ratings behind it against 1, so its average is the more settled of the two.

DayCount ships an update every 5 weeks, Countdown Widget daily. The most recent releases landed on October 2, 2026 and September 28, 2026 respectively.
