# ChimpKey vs Keyb

The clearest difference is price: ChimpKey at Free against Keyb's $3.99. ChimpKey also leads on review sentiment (81% vs 50%) and ratings volume (3 vs 1). Keyb's advantage is rating (5.0 vs 3.7) and update cadence (weekly vs every 5 weeks). On ads, in-app purchases, monetization model and device support there is nothing between them.

ChimpKey is free to download; Keyb costs $3.99 up front. ChimpKey sells 10 one-off in-app purchases and Keyb sells 3 in-app purchases, starting at $3.99 per month. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

Keyb holds the better App Store score, 5.0 against 3.7. Both are backed by a comparable volume of ratings — 3 and 1 respectively. Written reviews complicate that: 81% of ChimpKey's written reviews are positive against 50% of Keyb's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

ChimpKey ships an update every 5 weeks, Keyb weekly. The most recent releases landed on October 24, 2026 and October 7, 2026 respectively.
