# Slyder vs Word Checker Dictionary

The clearest difference is rating: Word Checker Dictionary at 5.0 against Slyder's 4.5. Slyder's advantage is ads (none vs shown) and update cadence (every 10 days vs every 5 months). On price, in-app purchases, monetization model and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Slyder sells 12 in-app purchases, starting at $0.99 per month and Word Checker Dictionary sells 1 one-off in-app purchase. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

Word Checker Dictionary holds the better App Store score, 5.0 against 4.5. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Slyder has 1.6K ratings behind it against 14, so its average is the more settled of the two.

Slyder ships an update every 10 days, Word Checker Dictionary every 5 months. The most recent releases landed on October 18, 2026 and October 19, 2026 respectively.
