# Portillo's vs Macubana

The clearest difference is rating: Macubana at 5.0 against Portillo's's 1.9. Macubana also leads on iOS requirement (11.0 vs 26.0). Portillo's's advantage is ads (none vs shown) and update cadence (every 2 months vs every 30 months). On price, in-app purchases and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Neither carries in-app purchases, so what you see is what you pay.

Macubana holds the better App Store score, 5.0 against 1.9. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Portillo's has 1K ratings behind it against 1, so its average is the more settled of the two.

Portillo's ships an update every 2 months, Macubana every 30 months. The most recent releases landed on November 6, 2026 and November 2, 2026 respectively.
