# Mela vs Queen Royale

The clearest difference is in-app purchases: Mela at none against Queen Royale's 17. Mela also leads on ads (none vs shown) and iOS requirement (10.0 vs 13.0). Queen Royale's advantage is update cadence (every 9 days vs every 2 months) and rating (4.9 vs 4.5). On price, review sentiment and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Queen Royale sells 17 one-off in-app purchases. Mela asks for nothing beyond the download.

Queen Royale holds the better App Store score, 4.9 against 4.5. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Queen Royale has 176 ratings behind it against 2, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 100% of Mela's written reviews are positive against 94% of Queen Royale's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

Mela ships an update every 2 months, Queen Royale every 9 days. The most recent releases landed on October 10, 2026 and October 24, 2026 respectively.
