# Secret Diary With Passcode vs Daily Journal

The clearest difference is rating: Secret Diary With Passcode at 4.6 against Daily Journal's 4.0. Secret Diary With Passcode also leads on in-app purchases (none vs 3) and ratings volume (8.2K vs 1). Daily Journal's advantage is review sentiment (100% vs 83%). On price, update cadence, ads and monetization model there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Daily Journal sells 3 in-app purchases, starting at $4.99 per month. Secret Diary With Passcode asks for nothing beyond the download.

Secret Diary With Passcode holds the better App Store score, 4.6 against 4.0. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Secret Diary With Passcode has 8.2K ratings behind it against 1, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 83% of Secret Diary With Passcode's written reviews are positive against 100% of Daily Journal's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

Secret Diary With Passcode ships an update every 6 weeks, Daily Journal monthly. The most recent releases landed on October 24, 2026 and October 7, 2026 respectively.
