# GPS Fields Area Measure Map vs ElevationCheck

The clearest difference is rating: GPS Fields Area Measure Map at 4.6 against ElevationCheck's 4.2. GPS Fields Area Measure Map also leads on ratings volume (13K vs 6). ElevationCheck's advantage is update cadence (every 2 days vs fortnightly) and iOS requirement (15.0 vs 17.1). On price, review sentiment, ads and in-app purchases there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. GPS Fields Area Measure Map sells 10 in-app purchases, starting at $4.99 per 7 days and ElevationCheck sells 1 in-app purchase, starting at $3.99 per month. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

GPS Fields Area Measure Map holds the better App Store score, 4.6 against 4.2. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: GPS Fields Area Measure Map has 13K ratings behind it against 6, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 57% of GPS Fields Area Measure Map's written reviews are positive against 63% of ElevationCheck's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

GPS Fields Area Measure Map ships an update fortnightly, ElevationCheck every 2 days. The most recent releases landed on November 4, 2026 and November 3, 2026 respectively.
