# Countdown Timer vs Countdown

The clearest difference is update cadence: Countdown at every 3 days against Countdown Timer's every 3 weeks. Countdown also leads on ratings volume (188K vs 1.4K) and rating (4.8 vs 4.5). On price, ads, in-app purchases and monetization model there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Countdown Timer sells 15 in-app purchases, starting at $0.99 per 7 days and Countdown sells 3 one-off in-app purchases. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

Countdown holds the better App Store score, 4.8 against 4.5. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Countdown has 188K ratings behind it against 1.4K, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews point the same way: 60% of Countdown Timer's written reviews are positive against 72% of Countdown's.

Countdown Timer ships an update every 3 weeks, Countdown every 3 days. The most recent releases landed on October 6, 2026 and October 9, 2026 respectively.
