# Chess Plus vs Glow Chess

The clearest difference is update cadence: Chess Plus at every 9 days against Glow Chess's every 6 months. Glow Chess's advantage is rating (4.8 vs 4.6) and iOS requirement (12.0 vs 15.0). On price, ratings volume, ads and in-app purchases there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Chess Plus sells 14 in-app purchases, starting at $0.99 per 7 days and Glow Chess sells 1 one-off in-app purchase. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

Chess Plus ships an update every 9 days, Glow Chess every 6 months. Both last shipped on October 24, 2026.
