# Swamp Castle vs Relatos

The clearest difference is update cadence: Relatos at every 3 days against Swamp Castle's every 18 months. Relatos also leads on rating (5.0 vs 4.6) and review sentiment (100% vs 87%). Swamp Castle's advantage is ratings volume (85 vs 1) and iOS requirement (12.0 vs 17.0). On price, ads, in-app purchases and monetization model there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Swamp Castle sells 2 one-off in-app purchases and Relatos sells 2 in-app purchases, starting at $1.99 per month. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

Relatos holds the better App Store score, 5.0 against 4.6. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Swamp Castle has 85 ratings behind it against 1, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews point the same way: 87% of Swamp Castle's written reviews are positive against 100% of Relatos's.

Swamp Castle ships an update every 18 months, Relatos every 3 days. The most recent releases landed on October 26, 2026 and October 16, 2026 respectively.
