# Grade Control vs uGrade

The clearest difference is review sentiment: uGrade at 100% against Grade Control's 30%. uGrade also leads on update cadence (every 2 weeks vs monthly) and device support (6 vs 2). Grade Control's advantage is rating (4.2 vs 3.7) and ratings volume (494 vs 3). On price, ads, in-app purchases and monetization model there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Grade Control sells 6 in-app purchases, starting at $4.99 per year and uGrade sells 1 one-off in-app purchase. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

Grade Control holds the better App Store score, 4.2 against 3.7. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Grade Control has 494 ratings behind it against 3, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 30% of Grade Control's written reviews are positive against 100% of uGrade's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

Grade Control ships an update monthly, uGrade every 2 weeks. The most recent releases landed on October 22, 2026 and October 6, 2026 respectively.
