# Colordrop vs OC Remote

The clearest difference is price: OC Remote at Free against Colordrop's $4.99. OC Remote also leads on update cadence (every 3 days vs every 3 weeks) and rating (5.0 vs 4.8). Colordrop's advantage is ratings volume (14 vs 1) and device support (4 vs 2). On ads, in-app purchases and chart position there is nothing between them.

OC Remote is free to download; Colordrop costs $4.99 up front. Colordrop sells 5 one-off in-app purchases and OC Remote sells 1 in-app purchase, starting at $4.99 per year. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

OC Remote holds the better App Store score, 5.0 against 4.8. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Colordrop has 14 ratings behind it against 1, so its average is the more settled of the two.

Colordrop ships an update every 3 weeks, OC Remote every 3 days. The most recent releases landed on October 26, 2026 and October 25, 2026 respectively.
