# Switchy Sides vs Cut This!

The clearest difference is ads: Switchy Sides at none against Cut This!'s shown. Switchy Sides also leads on iOS requirement (6.0 vs 12.0). Cut This!'s advantage is ratings volume (833 vs 61) and rating (4.5 vs 4.3). On price, review sentiment, update cadence and in-app purchases there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Switchy Sides sells 1 one-off in-app purchase and Cut This! sells 5 one-off in-app purchases. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

Cut This! holds the better App Store score, 4.5 against 4.3. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Cut This! has 833 ratings behind it against 61, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 61% of Switchy Sides's written reviews are positive against 55% of Cut This!'s, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

Switchy Sides ships an update every 5 weeks, Cut This! every 6 weeks. The most recent releases landed on September 18, 2026 and August 27, 2026 respectively.
