# SnapType vs Flashcard Studio

SnapType and Flashcard Studio both sit at 4.5 stars, but that hides the real split: 100% of Flashcard Studio's written reviews are positive against 64% of SnapType's. Flashcard Studio also leads on in-app purchases (none vs 1) and update cadence (daily vs every 4 weeks). SnapType's advantage is ratings volume (366 vs 9). On price, rating, ads and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. SnapType sells 1 in-app purchase, starting at $49.99 per year. Flashcard Studio asks for nothing beyond the download.

SnapType holds the better App Store score, 4.5 against 4.3. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: SnapType has 366 ratings behind it against 9, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 64% of SnapType's written reviews are positive against 100% of Flashcard Studio's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

SnapType ships an update every 4 weeks, Flashcard Studio daily. The most recent releases landed on November 2, 2026 and November 3, 2026 respectively.
