# SnapType vs Clicker Writer

The clearest difference is monetization model: Clicker Writer at free against SnapType's free with in-app purchases. SnapType's advantage is ratings volume (366 vs 2) and review sentiment (64% vs 43%). On price, rating, ads and in-app purchases there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. SnapType sells 1 in-app purchase, starting at $49.99 per year and Clicker Writer sells 1 one-off in-app purchase. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

On the App Store both sit at effectively the same score — 4.5 for SnapType against 4.5 for Clicker Writer. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: SnapType has 366 ratings behind it against 2, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews are what separate them: 64% of SnapType's written reviews are positive against 43% of Clicker Writer's.

SnapType ships an update every 4 weeks, Clicker Writer every 2 months. The most recent releases landed on November 2, 2026 and November 3, 2026 respectively.
