# SnapType vs Squiggles AI

The clearest difference is rating: Squiggles AI at 5.0 against SnapType's 4.5. Squiggles AI also leads on update cadence (daily vs every 4 weeks). SnapType's advantage is ratings volume (366 vs 2). On price, ads, in-app purchases and monetization model there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. SnapType sells 1 in-app purchase, starting at $49.99 per year and Squiggles AI sells 3 one-off in-app purchases. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

Squiggles AI holds the better App Store score, 5.0 against 4.5. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: SnapType has 366 ratings behind it against 2, so its average is the more settled of the two.

SnapType ships an update every 4 weeks, Squiggles AI daily. The most recent releases landed on October 21, 2026 and October 22, 2026 respectively.
