# Nextcloud vs NowThis

The clearest difference is price: Nextcloud at Free against NowThis's $4.99. Nextcloud also leads on in-app purchases (none vs 7) and ratings volume (10K vs 2). NowThis's advantage is rating (5.0 vs 4.7). On ads, device support and iOS requirement there is nothing between them.

Nextcloud is free to download; NowThis costs $4.99 up front. NowThis sells 7 in-app purchases, starting at $1.99 per month. Nextcloud asks for nothing beyond the download.

NowThis holds the better App Store score, 5.0 against 4.7. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Nextcloud has 10K ratings behind it against 2, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 61% of Nextcloud's written reviews are positive against 50% of NowThis's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

Nextcloud ships an update weekly, NowThis every 3 weeks. The most recent releases landed on November 6, 2026 and November 5, 2026 respectively.
