# FreeCell Forever vs Simple Freecell

The clearest difference is ads: Simple Freecell at none against FreeCell Forever's shown. Simple Freecell also leads on update cadence (monthly vs every 19 months) and monetization model (free vs ad-supported). FreeCell Forever's advantage is ratings volume (142 vs 12) and iOS requirement (12.0 vs 18.6). On price, rating, review sentiment and in-app purchases there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Neither carries in-app purchases, so what you see is what you pay.

Simple Freecell holds the better App Store score, 4.9 against 4.7. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: FreeCell Forever has 142 ratings behind it against 12, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 90% of FreeCell Forever's written reviews are positive against 83% of Simple Freecell's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

FreeCell Forever ships an update every 19 months, Simple Freecell monthly. The most recent releases landed on November 2, 2026 and November 3, 2026 respectively.
