# Trilo Spelling Lite vs Spelling Bee

The clearest difference is review sentiment: Trilo Spelling Lite at 100% against Spelling Bee's 40%. Trilo Spelling Lite also leads on in-app purchases (none vs 7) and iOS requirement (6.0 vs 17.0). Spelling Bee's advantage is rating (4.6 vs 4.0) and update cadence (weekly vs every 9 months). On price, ads and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Spelling Bee sells 6 in-app purchases, starting at $9.99 per month. Trilo Spelling Lite asks for nothing beyond the download.

Spelling Bee holds the better App Store score, 4.6 against 4.0. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Spelling Bee has 781 ratings behind it against 3, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 100% of Trilo Spelling Lite's written reviews are positive against 40% of Spelling Bee's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

Trilo Spelling Lite ships an update every 9 months, Spelling Bee weekly. The most recent releases landed on October 24, 2026 and October 27, 2026 respectively.
