# MyNotebook vs Notepad

The clearest difference is in-app purchases: MyNotebook at none against Notepad's 1. MyNotebook also leads on review sentiment (88% vs 54%) and ratings volume (41 vs 3). Notepad's advantage is update cadence (every 4 days vs monthly) and iOS requirement (13.0 vs 16.6). On price, rating, ads and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Notepad sells 1 one-off in-app purchase. MyNotebook asks for nothing beyond the download.

Notepad holds the better App Store score, 5.0 against 4.8. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: MyNotebook has 41 ratings behind it against 3, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 88% of MyNotebook's written reviews are positive against 54% of Notepad's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

MyNotebook ships an update monthly, Notepad every 4 days. The most recent releases landed on October 3, 2026 and October 13, 2026 respectively.
