# iWanamaker vs Sparrow

The clearest difference is rating: Sparrow at 4.5 against iWanamaker's 2.7. Sparrow also leads on ratings volume (3.6K vs 63) and update cadence (every 2 weeks vs every 6 weeks). iWanamaker's advantage is in-app purchases (none vs 11) and review sentiment (41% vs 28%). On price and ads there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Sparrow sells 8 in-app purchases, starting at $14.99 per month. iWanamaker asks for nothing beyond the download.

Sparrow holds the better App Store score, 4.5 against 2.7. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Sparrow has 3.6K ratings behind it against 63, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 41% of iWanamaker's written reviews are positive against 28% of Sparrow's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

iWanamaker ships an update every 6 weeks, Sparrow every 2 weeks. The most recent releases landed on October 7, 2026 and October 16, 2026 respectively.
