# Speech Central vs Milestone

The clearest difference is review sentiment: Milestone at 100% against Speech Central's 69%. Milestone also leads on rating (5.0 vs 4.6) and monetization model (free vs free with in-app purchases). Speech Central's advantage is ratings volume (1.6K vs 1) and update cadence (every 9 days vs every 4 weeks). On price, ads, in-app purchases and iOS requirement there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Speech Central sells 1 one-off in-app purchase and Milestone sells 6 one-off in-app purchases. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

Milestone holds the better App Store score, 5.0 against 4.6. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Speech Central has 1.6K ratings behind it against 1, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews point the same way: 69% of Speech Central's written reviews are positive against 100% of Milestone's.

Speech Central ships an update every 9 days, Milestone every 4 weeks. The most recent releases landed on November 2, 2026 and October 29, 2026 respectively.
