# Hoff vs modi

The clearest difference is review sentiment: Hoff at 92% against modi's 55%. Hoff also leads on rating (4.8 vs 4.3) and ratings volume (494 vs 6). modi's advantage is ads (none vs shown) and monetization model (free vs free with in-app purchases). On price, update cadence, in-app purchases and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Neither carries in-app purchases, so what you see is what you pay.

Hoff holds the better App Store score, 4.8 against 4.3. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Hoff has 494 ratings behind it against 6, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews point the same way: 92% of Hoff's written reviews are positive against 55% of modi's.

Both ship on a similar rhythm, roughly fortnightly. The most recent releases landed on October 17, 2026 and October 16, 2026 respectively.
