# W | Bear vs Chunkr

The clearest difference is rating: W | Bear at 4.5 against Chunkr's 4.0. W | Bear also leads on ratings volume (2.5K vs 3). Chunkr's advantage is in-app purchases (none vs 3) and review sentiment (67% vs 40%). On price, ads, device support and iOS requirement there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. W | Bear sells 3 in-app purchases, starting at $12.99 per month. Chunkr asks for nothing beyond the download.

W | Bear holds the better App Store score, 4.5 against 4.0. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: W | Bear has 2.5K ratings behind it against 3, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 40% of W | Bear's written reviews are positive against 67% of Chunkr's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

W | Bear ships an update every 4 weeks, Chunkr every 2 weeks. The most recent releases landed on October 1, 2026 and September 21, 2026 respectively.
