# Disaster Watch vs Thermometer

The clearest difference is rating: Disaster Watch at 5.0 against Thermometer's 3.7. Disaster Watch also leads on in-app purchases (none vs 4) and update cadence (every 2 days vs monthly). Thermometer's advantage is ratings volume (132 vs 1). On price, ads, device support and iOS requirement there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Thermometer sells 4 in-app purchases, starting at $0.99 per 7 days. Disaster Watch asks for nothing beyond the download.

Disaster Watch holds the better App Store score, 5.0 against 3.7. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Thermometer has 132 ratings behind it against 1, so its average is the more settled of the two.

Disaster Watch ships an update every 2 days, Thermometer monthly. The most recent releases landed on September 21, 2026 and October 3, 2026 respectively.
