# VoiceMarker vs Text Reader

The clearest difference is in-app purchases: VoiceMarker at none against Text Reader's 22. VoiceMarker also leads on iOS requirement (8.0 vs 16.6). Text Reader's advantage is ratings volume (115 vs 1) and rating (4.3 vs 4.0). On price, ads and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Text Reader sells 22 in-app purchases, starting at $1.99 per 7 days. VoiceMarker asks for nothing beyond the download.

Text Reader holds the better App Store score, 4.3 against 4.0. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Text Reader has 115 ratings behind it against 1, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews point the same way: 50% of VoiceMarker's written reviews are positive against 61% of Text Reader's.
