# READING & vs e

The clearest difference is monetization model: e at free against READING &'s free with in-app purchases. e also leads on review sentiment (100% vs 79%) and iOS requirement (12.1 vs 17.0). READING &'s advantage is update cadence (every 2 weeks vs every 2 months). On price, ads, in-app purchases and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Neither carries in-app purchases, so what you see is what you pay.

READING & ships an update every 2 weeks, e every 2 months. The most recent releases landed on October 12, 2026 and October 8, 2026 respectively.
